Gucci shares fell 50 cents, to $43.375, today on the New York Stock Exchange.
Gucci shares dropped $3.75, or 5.5 percent, to $64.25.
Gucci shares closed on Friday at 82.30 euros, about $96.32, down 5.9 percent this year.
Gucci shares fell 6.5 percent, to 64.50 euros, ($68.37), after the announcement.
In the summer of 2000, Gucci shares rose a bit, but fell back later in the year.

Gucci shares rose 10 percent to 73.7 euros.
Gucci shares have risen by about 15 percent since late July, when the first reports of Gucci's interest in Fendi surfaced.
Gucci shares closed today at 109.05 euros, or about $93.46, down 2.5 percent in Amsterdam.
Gucci shares fell 2.35 percent, to 87.15 euros ($79.83) in Amsterdam.
