Variations are sold in the United States as the Isuzu Stylus and Impulse and also by General Motors as the Geo Storm.

G.M. also sells the car as the Geo Storm.

Isuzu builds the Geo Storm, a car that G.M.'s Chevrolet division imports from Japan and that replaced the Spectrum in the division's lineup.

Mr. Sowler acknowledged that many who have seen the car remarked on a strong resemblance to the Geo Storm sold by Chevrolet.

Geo Storm (1990-1993)

The Geo Storm was a rebadged version of the sporty, second generation Isuzu Impulse minus some of that car's more expensive features.

That beat by 200 miles the previous 24-hour record, set in Los Angeles on July 12, 1992, with a Geo Storm using the drivetrain and batteries of an Impact.

The name of the Geo Spectrum will also be dropped in favor of the Geo Storm, a car produced by Isuzu Motors Ltd. for Chevrolet.
