Swanagan had hoped for a financial donation to the Florida Aquarium.

"There is tremendous interest in these facilities," said James M. Stuart, executive director of Florida Aquarium.

The Florida Aquarium in Tampa has been offering regular family overnights; the September date is pending.

The tank helps to create an awareness of the Florida Aquarium, and educates people about rays and other aquatic life.

Proceeds from the sale of "ray food" goes to the Florida Aquarium and the team's charitable foundation.

An $84 million Florida Aquarium will be going up soon nearby and is due to open in 1993.

The Florida Aquarium was largely constructed using borrowed money amid inflated projections that high attendance and ticket sales would pay off the incurred debt.
