Earlier, Representative Henry A. Waxman, Democrat of California, announced a hearing by his Health and Environment Subcommittee for next month.

He is on leave from his job as chief aide to Representative Henry Waxman, a California Democrat and chairman of the House Health and Environment Subcommittee.

He was assigned to the House Appropriations Committee, the Transportation and the Environment Subcommittee and the Oversight Committee on Pensions.

Congresswoman Johnson also presently serves on the Aviation Subcommittee, Highways and Transit Subcommittee and Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee.

He is also a member of the Railroad Subcommittee and Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee.

He serves on the Highways and Transit; Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials; and Water Resources and Environment Subcommittees.

He was a member of the Energy and Water Subcommittee and the Interior and the Environment Subcommittee.

As a member of the Environment Subcommittee, he introduced environmental risk-assessment legislation later incorporated in the 1996 amendments to the Clean Water Act.
