Pynes was recently sold, and the present Earl lives at Hayne.
Earl lives in the old family homestead on a good piece of land in the Mississippi delta.
Construction began in October 1851 and by July 1853 the Earl was living at the house.
For more than 76 years, Earl has lived on the land, ridden the range and loved and understood horses.
Earl had lived with that fact for decades, knowing that every morning he went to sleep he might not wake.
"Earl lived like exiled royalty on these mean streets," Cohen said.
Earl now lives in a different town under an assumed identity.
Earl lives in Surrey with her husband David, a lawyer, and two sons.
The current Earl lives in smaller house on the same site.
On the street he hailed a cab and went to the apartment house where the young Earl was living with Yorke.
