The large central peak in the view is Red Eagle Mountain.

It is south of Bald Eagle Mountain, and flows from west to east.

Peak 2266 is the second highest point in Minnesota, after Eagle Mountain.

As the mine expanded, Eagle Mountain grew to a peak population of 4000.

The main track heading to Eagle Mountain starts at the east end of the yard.

This dropped the population at Eagle Mountain to a low of 1,890 residents.

However, the large ore loading tower at Eagle Mountain was removed in 1990.
