Even so, Dr. Elders did not fall on the sword in vain.

But it is not only what Dr. Elders says that has made her a subject of criticism.

The nurses called him Dr. Elder, but he was no doctor.

A reporter asked whether Dr. Elders wanted to give condoms to public school children.

It will give Dr. Elders an opportunity to provide all the answers to the committee.

"We always talked about the separation of church and state," Dr. Elders said.

Dr. Elders said she tried to find "a jazzy way" to express her ideas so people would understand her.

"The churches have a lot to offer us and the community," Dr. Elders said.

It is a loss to this country that Dr. Elders will no longer be at the helm fighting for our youth.
