The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs combines social sciences with public administration and international relations.

Joe is a graduate of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.

He has done additional graduate work at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.

Cleveland also served as Dean of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs from 1956 to 1961.

Once securely in this country, he accepted a professorship at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse.

From 2003 to 2010, he served as dean of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.

In 1972, he followed with a Master's degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

The Social Science division is jointly administered with Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

He also joined the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs as a public administration faculty after retiring from the Senate.

His PhD was conferred by the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in 1996.
