"Politics may well be the art of compromise, but not every compromise is morally right and good," the Cardinal wrote.
In the column, the Cardinal wrote that abortion was "the most important issue of our day."
"The allies were faced with a regrettable dilemma," the Cardinal wrote.
In his newspaper column, the Cardinal had written that no school would close without his personal review.
"He's an enjoyable man to talk with and he has a lot of common sense," the Cardinal wrote.
"We did not call them," the Cardinal wrote.
In his weekly letter, the Cardinal wrote of the known and generally unknown areas of the architect's life.
The latter "expressed not only a willingness but a real desire to meet with me," the Cardinal writes.
"The things people remember most are small acts of concern and thoughtfulness," the Cardinal wrote.
"I am at end of my earthly life," wrote the Cardinal, who has terminal pancreatic cancer.
