A long stretch of land situated to the south of Tropic of Cancer and east of the western ghats and the Cardamom Hills experiences this climate.

Smaller ranges are further south, including the Cardamom Hills.

It is distributed across southern India, specifically in the Cardamom Hills, Travancore.

The Periyar protected area lies in the middle of a mountainous area of the Cardamom Hills.

They border the state of Kerala on the Southwest and the Cardamom Hills to the southeast.

The Cardamom Hills are famed all over the globe as the spice centre of the world, and today we cycle through the shadow of these hills.

Located on the western slopes of the Cardamom Hills, around 150 km east of Kochi, the monastery is currently home to 11 monks.

In that era, the vines that yield the small, well-rounded black berries grew only here in the lush, lovely Cardamom Hills of southwest India.
