"Spas have become such an everyday part of New York life," said Marcia Kilgore, founder of Bliss Spas.
At the Bliss Spa in SoHo, Ann Marie, an aromatherapist, said the daily smells one encounters have a dramatic impact on a person's mental health.
But when Ms. Kilgore, the owner of Bliss Spa, started living part time in London two winters ago, her style became Anglicized.
Rooms will have nine-foot ceilings and bathrooms with oversized showers and toiletries created by Bliss Spa.
Bathrooms have deluge showers and goodies from the Bliss Spa downstairs.
To accommodate increasing demand, Kilgore opened the first Bliss Spa in SoHo in July 1996.
All W Hotels also feature Bliss in-room amenities, regardless of whether or not the hotel houses an actual Bliss Spa.
From there grew Bliss Spa in Manhattan's SoHo as well as lines of skin-care products and cosmetics.
The Bliss Spa is packed on Friday nights for those who come in for a half-hour pre-party Oxygen Blast facial for a quick spot glow.
