William Bell (died 1343) was a 14th-century Bishop of St Andrews.

The church was rebuilt in the 12th century but not consecrated until 1242 by David de Bernham, Bishop of St Andrews.

Both churches were indirectly under the patronage of the Bishop of St Andrews, William Fraser.

In May 1276 a church on the site was consecrated by William Wishart, Bishop of St Andrews.

Túathal is the ninth alleged Bishop of St Andrews.

George Wilkinson was afterwards Bishop of St Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane.
