He returned to the senior game 8 months later, joining Albion Rovers.

His last senior club was Albion Rovers in 1983 where he made just a single league appearance before retiring.

He was briefly assistant manager at Albion Rovers in 1993.

A spell at Albion Rovers added a few more appearances.

He later managed Albion Rovers between 2003 and 2005.

In his free time he played for a local amateur football team, Albion Rovers.

Robertson did though come out of retirement a few years later to play several games for Albion Rovers.

He would also manage Albion Rovers at the end of his career.

He subsequently joined Albion Rovers on an initial one month deal.
