Injection moulding was developed by British Xylonite in 1941 and was used for the Palitoy toy ranges.

Cascelloid was bought in 1931 by British Xylonite and the word "Palitoy" was created as a trademark in 1935 for their toy division.

He lives in Erfurt with his girlfriend, Ines Nabel, the lead singer and keyboarder of the German group Xylonite Ivy.

Alexander Parkes and Daniel Spill (see below) listed camphor during their earlier experiments, calling the resultant mix "xylonite", but it was the Hyatt brothers who recognized the value of camphor and its use as a plasticizer for cellulose nitrate.
