working jib

A working jib is no larger than the 100% foretriangle.

Working jibs are also defined by the same measure, typically 100% or less of the foretriangle.

The sail inventory consists of a large mainsail, a small 110% working jib, a 135% genoa, and a spinnaker.

Dacron sailcloth is used for the mainsail, genoa and working jib, and nylon for the spinnaker.

The feature that distinguishes a genoa from a working jib is that the former extends past the mast, overlapping the mainsail when viewed from the side.
