One of Penn's most well-known poems was "Vidui" (My Confession), a turbulent piece about love and death.

Accordingly, Yom Kippur is unique for the confessional, or Vidui, that is part of the prayer services.

An important part of the Yom Kippur service is the "Vidui" (Vidui) or confession.

Ne'ila consists of Ashrei, Uva L'Tzion (both of which are postponed from Mincha when they are normally recited), Amidah with Selichot and an abbreviated Vidui, and Avinu Malkeinu.

Starting on the evening before Rosh Hashanah [and in the Western rites, even on the first days] and continuing through Yom Kippur, this Selichah is said after the final recitation of the Thirteen Attributes and before the Vidui confessional.
