Anglicanism, world-wide, has never had, after all, a universal synod with power to define and legislate in matters of doctrine, worship, morals, and pastoral practice.

The Universal Synod of Ingelheim began on June 7, 948 in the then church of Saint Remigius in Ingelheim.
