Xuejun Chen is a Thermal power engineering scientist, professor and former deputy president of Xi'an Jiaotong University.

Currently there are circuit theory labs, state of the art seminar halls, thermal power engineering labs, electrical machines lab, electronics lab, control system lab etc.

He also runs the chairs of Thermal Power Engineering and Environmental protections of SEUA.

There are five key ministerial subjects, namely power system and its automation, power plant thermal power engineering, theoretical electric engineering, industrial automation and technological economics.

The institute started part time post graduate course in Electrical Power System in 1986 and later added four P.G. Courses in Thermal Power Engineering, Environmental, Geotechnical, and Electronics Systems and Communication.

From 1969 to 1975 worked in chair of Thermal Power Engineering of faculty of Power Engineering of Yerevan Polytechnic Institute as an Assistant, and before 1983 worked as Senior Lecture in the same chair.
