Sialography may be sometimes used to help demonstrate the salivary gland tissue within the bone.

Sialography involves visualization of the salivary glands following the injection of a dye.

Sialography involves introduction of radio-opaque dye such as iodine into the duct of a salivary gland.

Objective evidence of salivary gland involvement is tested through ultrasound examinations, the level of unstimulated whole salivary flow, a parotid sialography or salivary scintigraphy.
