The Greater Short-toed Lark (Calandrella brachydactyla) or sometimes just Short-toed Lark (but see below) is a small passerine bird.

It was formerly included in either the Greater Short-toed Lark (C. brachydactyla) or the Red-capped Lark (C. cinerea) but is now commonly treated as a separate species.

In addition to 115 species of breeding birds, the ponds are visited annually by about eighty species of migratory birds, such as greenish warbler, Greater short-toed lark, short-eared owl, booted eagle, lesser spotted eagle, black crowned night heron and osprey.
