The Redcliffe Rollerdrome, built by Alex Smith, was opened by in1938.

The Rollerdrome was a roller-skating rink on the beachfront at Redcliffe, and was representative of a number of such venues popular around Queensland in that era.

When they rented the Rainbow Rollerdrome in Memphis, Elvis and the "Memphis Mafia" usually played "a game called 'War', of which Elvis was the proud inventor.

After graduating high school in 1967, he rolled up his sleeves and went to work in the Point Pleasant boatyards while performing at the local Rollerdrome and Hullabaloo Clubs at night.

On this lot between Stewart and Franklin Streets on Johnson Avenue was a recreational complex that included a huge, above-ground pool and the Wal-Cliffe Rollerdrome, a roller-skating rink.

Occasionally they would go skating at the Rollerdrome, which turned out to be good practice for the brilliant tap dancing solo Mr. O'Connor did on roller skates in "I Love Melvyn" (1953).
