renal plexus

The least, or lowest, splanchnic nerve connects the T12 level to the renal plexus.

Below this the least splanchic nerve leaves the sympatheic chain to synapse at the "renal plexus".

The kidney and nervous system communicate via the renal plexus, whose fibers course along the renal arteries to reach each kidney.

The ovarian plexus arises from the renal plexus, and is distributed to the ovary, and fundus of the uterus.

The spermatic plexus (or testicular plexus) is derived from the renal plexus, receiving branches from the aortic plexus.

The renal plexus is formed by filaments from the celiac ganglia and plexus, aorticorenal ganglia, lower thoracic splanchnic nerves and first lumbar splanchnic nerve and aortic plexus.

The upper part of each ganglion is joined by the greater splanchnic nerve, while the lower part, which is segmented off and named the aorticorenal ganglion, receives the lesser splanchnic nerve and gives off the greater part of the renal plexus.
