Requests for a waiver or reduction of fees shall be considered on a case-by-case basis.

(d) Waiver or reduction of fees.

Unlike other recent settlement between mutual funds and federal and state regulators, this one had no provision for the future reduction of fees charged to investors.

In February 2009, Governor Gbenga Daniel authorized reduction of fees at the State-owned polytechnic to N7,000.

(4) Where only a portion of the requested records satisfies both of the requirements for a waiver or reduction of fees under this paragraph, a waiver or reduction shall be granted only as to that portion.

All fees so assessed shall be charged to the requester, except where the charge is limited under paragraph (c) of this section or where a waiver or reduction of fees is granted under paragraph (d) of this section.

Moreover, when a request is received for disclosure that is primarily in the commercial interest of the requester, the Department is not required to consider a request for a waiver or reduction of fees based upon the assertion that disclosure would be in the public interest.

A waiver or reduction of fees may be authorized in cases where disclosure of information is in the public interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the operations or activities of the government and is not primarily in the commercial interest of the requester.
