Eurasian three-toed woodpecker

Until recently, it was considered to be the same species as the Eurasian Three-toed Woodpecker, (P. tridactylus).

Unlike all other woodpeckers except the related American and Eurasian Three-toed Woodpeckers, this species has three-toed feet.

In terms of birds, there are a number of owls, such as the Ural owl, and woodpeckers, particularly the Eurasian Three-toed Woodpecker.

Recent research suggests that the American and Eurasian forms should be split as separate species, Eurasian Three-toed Woodpecker, P. tridactylus and American Three-toed Woodpecker, P. dorsalis.

Also Siberian Flying Squirrels, Eurasian Three-toed Woodpeckers, Hazel Grouses, Bank Voles, Eurasian lynxes and Brown Bears are hiding in the spruce forests of Vaarunvuoret.

The Three-toed Woodpecker (Picoides tridactylus) is a medium-sized woodpecker.
