The common method of checking a weld's quality is a peel test.

The protocol is divided into two parts; one for a fixed arm peel test and the other for a T-peel test.

In the wedge peel test presented below, the specimen is shaped as a tuning fork with the structural adhesive applied between the two halves and forced by pushing a wedge through it. The computational model includes only one half of the geometry.
