All plans for development within a mine subsidence area are required to be stamped by the Mine Subsidence Board.

Thiess general manager NSW/ACT Brendan Donohue said the project would be technically complex as the corridor included a number of possible mine subsidence areas.

NOTE: If your application is within a mine subsidence area, your application will be referred to the Mine Subsidence Board by Council.

An inspection of the site and certain Mandalong Valley properties was conducted on Thursday 9 April 1998 and an inspection of a nearby mine subsidence area was conducted on the afternoon of Thursday 16 April 1998.
