Korovai: a round, braided bread, similar to the kolach.

A kolach is a pastry of Czech and Slovak origin, with a fruit center, usually poppy seed, prunes, cherries, or blueberries, somewhat similar to a Danish.

The food is reflecting full range of tastes ranging from baklava and sarma to stuffed pepper, mlinci, knedlichke and kolach(i)y (biscuits in both Croatian and Czech language).

A large round loaf of bread called kolach was passed first to Ms. Baiul, then to Mr. Petrenko and his wife, and to officials of Fish Enterprises/World Skate Inc., which is building the rink.

The people of Labana tribe are divided into 11 clans, or Gotras: The Kundlas, Sandlas, Bhaarot, Bashak, Kochal, Kolach, Laslas, Kachap, Vashisht, Bishpl, and Altarays.

During the summer, usually the second week of June, Verdigre hosts a huge festival celebrating the kolach and usually provides rides, tractor pulls, both duck and turtle races, live music, mud volleyball, kolach eating contests, and a variety of activities for the community.
