The golden bandicoot (Isoodon auratus) is a short-nosed bandicoot found in northern Australia.

A population of koalas is found in the park, as are mammal species such as the short-nosed bandicoot, common ringtail possum, brushtail possum.

At night the ringtail possum is often seen and to a lesser extent the short-nosed bandicoot, bush rat, brushtail possum, koala, tawny frogmouth and boobook owl may also be observed.

The southern brown bandicoot (Isoodon obesulus), also known as the quenda from the local Noongar tongue from South Western Australia, is a short-nosed bandicoot found mostly in southern Australia.

An isolated subspecies of the Southern Brown Bandicoot (Isoodon obesulus nauticus) is endemic to the archipelago and confined to St Francis and the Franklin Islands.

All bandicoots in the genus Isoodon have short noses and small, rounded ears, and thus can be distinguished from most other bandicoots, which have longer noses and larger ears.

Fauna include frogs, snakes and insects, but the wetlands are especially important as a habitat for the rare southern brown bandicoot (Isoodon Obesulus), often known by its Nyoongar Aboriginal name of Quenda.
