WS2 was identified in 1971, to describe cases where dystopia canthorum did not present.

Individuals with dystopia canthorum have Type 1.

Some individuals may have a wide space between the eyes (dystopia canthorum), connecting eyebrows and/or a low frontal hairline.

Dystopia canthorum is associated with Waardenburg syndrome.

"Dystopia canthorum" is a lateral displacement of the inner canthi of the eyes, giving an appearance of a widened nasal bridge.
