"Aaronic" is an adjective referring to their traditional priestly attributes such as attention to detail, respect for tradition, and religious dogmatising.

He was the author of The Vanity of Dogmatizing (editions from 1661), which attacked scholasticism and religious persecution.

In 1879, the Unitarian Church sought to purchase the Andover school in order to create a school "free from...theological dogmatizing and unnatural religious methods."
