A continuity person rushes up to say, "I'm sorry sir.

Only takes which are vetted by the continuity person and/or script supervisor are printed and are sent to the film editor.

Joy Cavill (1923 - 1990) was an Australian writer and producer who worked in radio for a number of years before breaking into films as continuity person on King of the Coral Sea (1954).

Also known as the continuity person, the Script Supervisor keeps track of what parts of the script have been filmed and makes notes of any deviations between what was actually filmed and what appeared in the script.
