The assembly of a contig map involves several steps.

This process produces a contig map of the locus and is known as chromosome walking.

Individual sequencing contigs within each unfinished clone were oriented using the Ensembl contig map [ 83].

This contig map, however, does not cover the entire Blau syndrome region; it ends at the site of marker D16S2758 in our physical contig (see additional data file 1).

Another BAC contig map of chromosome 16q constructed by two-dimensional overlapping oligonucleotide (overgo) hybridization on high-density BAC filters has been published [ 23 ] .

Applications of PQ trees include creating a contig map from DNA fragments, testing a matrix for the consecutive ones property, recognizing interval graphs and determining whether a graph is planar.
