Johann Chrysanth "Beda" Weber (26 October 1798 - 28 February 1859) was a German Benedictine professor, author, and member of the Frankfurt Parliament.

Giesecke collected specimens of the Greenlandic bellflower, which he found deviated much from the European forms, and send them to the botanist Lorenz Chrysanth von Vest.

He then entered the Benedictine Abbey of Marienberg in Vinschgau, near Mals, changing his Christian name, Johann Chrysanth, to Beda.
