Additions since the 400th anniversary of the school have been a maze in the founder's garden, an aviary, an enclosure for Prevost's squirrels, ponds and a multi-million-pound sports complex.

Haling Park retains the appearance of an attractive country estate with a large copse, many fine specimen trees, Prevost's Squirrels, maras, peafowl, crowned and demoiselle cranes, flamingos and other exotic birds.

Prevost's squirrel (Callosciurus prevostii), or Asian tri-colored squirrel, is found in forest in the Thai-Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Borneo and nearby smaller islands, with an introduced population in northern Sulawesi.

The final section of the "Roadhouse" is an indoor flight aviary displaying over twenty species of Asian and Australian birds and a diurnal exhibit for an Indian Crested Porcupine and Prevost's Squirrels.

The "typical" subspecies (for example C. p. prevostii from the Thai-Malay Peninsula) of Prevost's Squirrel are among the most colourful mammals in the world with their black upperparts and tail, reddish-orange underparts, and whitish thighs and flanks.

In addition, it is in the Population management program for a number of other species: Galapagos Tortoise, Haitian Slider, Harbor seal, Parma Wallaby, Prevost's Squirrel, Red-necked Wallaby, Roseate spoonbill, Scarlet Ibis.

The indoor Asian Forest Complex is home to small mammals like the Prevost's squirrel and slow loris, as well as birds including hooded cranes, pink pigeons, rhinoceros hornbill, white-eyed ducks, Bali myna, black-naped fruit dove, bleeding heart pigeon, Nicobar pigeon, and yellow-vented bulbuls.
