We cannot be expected to invest in a system that does not correspond to what our Budget regulations require.

A 12-member strike force that Mr. Kemp created on Jan. 22 will be looking for similar infractions of department budget regulations in its review of New Jersey's 79 other local authorities.

I do think it is rather worrying, especially after talks with the Info-Point in my home town, that there are obviously different budget lines from which the Info-Points can draw funding and that not all of them are affected by the problems relating to the new budget regulations.

What we have managed to secure is a reform of the Budget legislation, the simplification of the Budget Regulations, certification of EU programmes and reporting responsibilities for the Member States, more reliable financial planning and clear agreements when new agencies are to be established.
