Cicerbita, commonly known as blue sow thistle is a genus of plants in the Asteraceae family.

This clearly unequal division of the leaves differentiates the genus from the closely related Lactuca (lettuce), in which Cicerbita is often included.

And when they bite it, the bellula runs to the fenicula or to the cicerbita and chews it, and comes back to the battaglia.

There are 20 to 25 species in the genus Cicerbita, which are distributed over the Northern Hemisphere (Eurasia, North America, and northern Africa).

Cicerbita alpina or Alpine Blue-sow-thistle is a perennial herbaceous plant species belonging to the genus Cicerbita of the Asteraceae family.
