Potash (especially potassium carbonate) has been used in bleaching textiles, making glass, and making soap, since about AD 500.

Many inorganic peroxides are used for bleaching textiles and paper and as a bleaching additive to detergents and cleaning products.

It can be used as a preventive for disinfection and environmental sterilization, in raising silkworm, livestock, poultry and fish, and also can be used to prevent wool from shrinking, bleaching textiles and cleaning industrial circulating water.
