To the Editor: So ends another fun-filled episode of "Americans Behaving Badly."

It is patterned after America's Funniest Home Videos, Jamie Kennedy Experiment and Girls Behaving Badly.

Its two Sunday-night comedies, "Men Behaving Badly" and "Jenny," are both performing so badly that NBC's movie, which follows them, is getting clobbered.

TV producer Beryl Vertue came across Nye's obscure 1989 novel: Men Behaving Badly, and quickly realised it would lend itself to a TV adaptation.

But Sunday night NBC's new comedies, "Men Behaving Badly" and "Jenny," trailed all three other networks, even among the young viewers NBC has declared the Holy Grail of television.

Simon Nye, whose British TV series "Men Behaving Badly" inspired the ABC series of the same name, says his lead characters, two lager lads named Tony and Gary, would favor a bowl of potato chips.

And second, if the teacher was in control, students would behave.

Again, where have the people who behave like parents gone?
