"It's just a lot of gossip, and muddled gossip at that, about sleazy bedroom romps and court intrigue, a lot of it spread by known liars," says one British magazine editor dismissively.

The 1986 series of Return to Eden was clearly intended as an Australian answer to the glamorous American "supersoaps" Dallas, Dynasty and Falcon Crest, with the requisite ostentatious fashions, boardroom struggles, bedroom romps and outrageous storylines.
