Aquarobics, an ultra-low-impact version of the popular exercise regimen, is down to one class a day.

Many guests follow workouts with either aquarobics or laps in the 55-foot ozone-treated indoor pool (too small for very serious swimmers), which is kept at 88 degrees.

Sports activities for members include aquarobics, aerobics, martial arts classes, long-distance sea swimming, water skiing, and Olympic and recreational sailing and windsurfing.

At pools throughout the country, programs with names like Aquacize and Aquamotion, water aerobics and aquarobics, aquadance and just plain aquatic exercise are finding a fast-growing audience.

My program, with its daily choice of aquarobics or a water-jet massage with seaweed, saltwater or Givenchy oils; steam cabinet or hydrojet treatment; and reflexology or an old-fashioned relaxing massage, was but a starting point.

The College also has cardio rooms, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a smaller pool for aquarobics and other activities, a mezzanine where classes are held, an indoor cycling studio, weight rooms, and a gym floor for basketball.
