White Alder (Alnus rhombifolia)
As its common name suggests, Gyrodon lividus is found under alder (Alnus rhombifolia), with which it forms a mycorrhizal relationship.
The name means "Glen of the Alders" in Spanish, after the native White Alder (Alnus rhombifolia) trees growing there.
To the southeast of its range it is replaced by white alder (Alnus rhombifolia), which is closely related but differs in the leaf margins not being rolled under.
It has been found in Europe, including Ķemeri National Park in Latvia, and Asia (Japan) and California, under Alder (Alnus rhombifolia).
