Looking through his camera, the photographer usually sits looking sideways while the aircraft manoeuvres through the sky, often resulting in airsickness and making air-to-air photography even more challenging.

These systems have the performance to calculate the bomb trajectory in real time as the aircraft manoeuvres, and add the ability to adjust for weather, relative altitude, relative speeds for moving targets, and climb or dive angle.

The IMU allows the system to have a precise, jitter-free lock on any geographic position and a very high target location accuracy, despite aircraft manoeuvres and noise in the aircraft's GPS/INS system.
