Future Aircraft Carrier class.

During the three days of the 'Battle of Casablanca' (whose name was given in April 1943 to USS Casablanca, lead ship of the U.S. Navy's escort aircraft carrier class), Jean Bart fired twenty-five 380 mm rounds; twenty-two of her seamen were killed.

They were different in conception to the Royal Navy's only modern carrier at the time, their predecessor HMS Ark Royal (91), and what may be described as their nearest American contemporaries, the Yorktown class aircraft carrier and Essex class aircraft carrier class carriers.
