Coordination of lower-echelon air requests became the province of four Landing Force Air Support Control Units (LFASCUs).

During this time they received 375 immediate joint tactical air requests (JTARs), 114 immediate assault support requests (ASRs) and 153 immediate medevacs.

The British Air request is under consideration by the Transportation Department, and United States carriers are urging that the deal be approved only if the British Government agrees to allow American carriers access to its markets and similar foreign investments in British carriers.
