aditus

An aditus is the opening to some interior space or cavity.

The public entered from two side passages (aditus), where the dedications have been found.

The laryngeal inlet (laryngeal aditus, laryngeal aperture) is the opening that connects the pharynx and the larynx.

The aditus to mastoid antrum (otomastoid foramen or entrance or aperture to the mastoid antrum) is a large irregular aperture that leads backward from the epitympanic recess into a considerable air space named the tympanic or mastoid antrum.

The aryepiglotticus (recurrent laryngeal nerve of vagus) contracts, causing the arytenoids to appose each other (closes the laryngeal aditus by bringing the aryepiglottic folds together), and draws the epiglottis down to bring its lower half into contact with arytenoids, thus closing the aditus.
