In 1840, the roof was raised to include the shed and to add two bedrooms on the second floor.

Forest Court added 300 bedrooms in the early 1990s.

Six years later, with her business booming, Ms. Williams added more bedrooms.

After his death, Allied-Signal added a conference center and 24 bedrooms.

It was remodeled in the mid-1870s, adding two bedrooms upstairs.

Newspaper reports at the time indicated that the remodeling added 15 bedrooms to the house but left the exterior mostly unchanged.

"They wanted to add extra living space, plus two new bedrooms for their expanding family," says James.

The rebuild added six double bedrooms, a buffet kitchen, and a lounge.
