Panthera tigris acutidens is a subspecies extinct tiger who lived in Asia during the Pleistocene for over 75,000 years, although in the main islands of Indonesia was supplanted by other subspecies of tiger and tiger Trinil (Panthera tigris trinilensis).

The first remains of Panthera Tigris acutidens were discovered in China in the town of Yen Ching Kao, Wanhsien, for a set of scientific expeditions carried out in the area between 1921 and 1926, its discoverer was Dr paleontologist Walter Granger.

Panthera Tigris acutidens competed with other large predators such as wolves, bears and other felines like the scimitar-toothed cat Homotherium ultimum, however due to their larger size tiger dominated the other carnivores in the same way that the Siberian tigers dominate the bears and wolves now.
