Waldeyer's ring

Together this set of lymphatic tissue is called the tonsillar ring or Waldeyer's ring.

Most distinctive symptom is palatal edema,caused by nodal involvement of Waldeyer's ring.

Snoring is more closely associated with fat deposition in the pharynx, enlarged tonsils of Waldeyer's ring, or deviated septum problems.

Waldeyer's ring was named after the nineteenth century German anatomist Heinrich Wilhelm Gottfried von Waldeyer-Hartz.

Waldeyer's ring circumscribes the naso- and oropharynx, with some of its tonsillar tissue located above and some below the soft palate (and to the back of the oral cavity).
