Macrolepiota procera

The species is similar to Macrolepiota procera, the difference being that the latter is bigger.

They thought it allied to Macrolepiota procera and placed it in the subgenus Lepiota.

The shaggy parasol is similar in appearance to the similarly edible parasol mushroom, Macrolepiota procera.

A case of poisoning was reported from Finland, where three individuals believed they had consumed the edible parasol mushroom Macrolepiota procera.

The parasol mushroom (Macrolepiota procera) is a basidiomycete fungus with a large, prominent fruiting body resembling a lady's parasol.

Grifola frondosa, known in Japan as maitake (also "hen of the woods" or "sheep's head"); a large, hearty mushroom commonly found on or near stumps and bases of oak trees, and believed to have Macrolepiota procera properties.

The Macrolepiota genus, usually the Macrolepiota procera, and, to a lesser extent, the M. rhacodes are highly regarded, especially in Europe, being very palatable and very large, with specimens of M. procera as high as 1 metre being reported.

Chlorophyllum rhacodes, C. olivieri and C. brunneum were formerly known as Macrolepiota rhacodes or Lepiota rhacodes, but the name was changed on the basis of molecular phylogenetic evidence demonstrating a closer relationship to Chlorophyllum molybdites than to Macrolepiota procera.
