Kalij pheasant

Birds the size of the Sri Lanka wood pigeon, Kalij pheasant and junglefowl have been recorded as prey.

Fabulous birds such as Ibisbill, Himalayan Monal, Blood and Kalij Pheasants inhabit the surrounding area.

Wildlife seen around the lake are barking deer, Kalij pheasants, Koklass pheasants white-capped laughingthrush and migratory ducks and geese.

More common animals include the rhesus monkey, wild boar, foxes and various species of birds, including the Cheer Pheasant and Kalij Pheasant.

The high altitude forests like Singalila National Park shelter barking deer, red panda, chinkara, takin, serow, pangolin, minivet and Kalij pheasants.

We didn't want to stop much on the way, but we did still see Russet Sparrow and Red-flanked Bluetail from the van, plus a small party of Kalij Pheasants.
